What is included in the price?

Compare the whole bill, item by item.

Put a price beside what it pays for. Leave a blank where the answer is missing. A blank is a question to ask, not a cost to guess.

Visit or membership
Does this pay for a single appointment, ongoing access to care or both? Ask when the next charge happens.
Medicine
Is it included? Get the full medicine name, then ask how much product that price buys.
Tests
Which tests are included? Ask who charges for them and who goes through the results with you.
Later care
Does the price include later visits, messages and a review of the treatment? Ask what costs extra.

A small number of online weight-loss services were checked in September 2026. Some charged for a monthly membership; others charged for each visit.

It was a small sample of advertised offers. It cannot tell you the fee a particular service will charge.

Which medicine price are you looking at?

For brand-name GLP-1 medicines, September 2026 prices differed across list prices, cash offers, discount cards, insurance savings cards and government programmes.

GLP-1 is a hormone, a substance that carries messages in the body. It helps control appetite and blood sugar. These GLP-1 medicines copy the hormone’s action.

The maker publishes a price known as the list price. A self-pay offer is a cash price paid outside insurance.

As of September 2026, medicine makers offer cash prices through their own programmes. These are called manufacturer self-pay offers. Insurance does not pay for these purchases. These purchases count towards neither your plan’s deductible nor its yearly cap on your own payments.

A deductible is an amount a plan expects you to pay before certain benefits start. Ask your plan how it applies to this bill.

Check the price after the offer ends

  • What is the usual charge after any welcome offer?
  • Is this price tied to paying ahead or staying enrolled?
  • What period of care and amount of medicine does it cover?
  • What do I pay if the clinician decides against treatment?
  • How do I stop repeat charges?

As checked in September 2026, several medicine cash offers and savings cards carried terms ending on December 31, 2026.

An offer’s end date leaves the next price unknown. Ask for the terms that apply when you pay.

Next, ask your plan about payment.
